Managing Parameter Presets

Parameter presets in Report Gateway are report-specific settings that you can select instead of setting the options individually each time you run the report. They are similar to report styles in MRI for the Web.

Adding Parameter Presets

To add a parameter preset for a report, follow these steps:

1.         Open the report for which you want to create a parameter preset.

2.         Complete the parameters with the values that you want to save.

3.         Click Save Preset. The Save Parameter Preset window appears.

4.         In the Parameter Preset Name field, enter a unique name that describes the selected options.

5.         If you want to make this parameter preset available to other users leveraging the same client ID and database for their data context, select the Public Preset check box. Otherwise, it will only be visible to you as a private preset.

Note

Parameter presets are saved for the specific data context in which they were created. For example, a user with access to two databases who saves a preset in one database will not have access to that preset in the other database.

6.         Click Save.

Modifying Parameter Presets

To modify an existing parameter preset, follow these steps:

1.         Open the report containing the parameter preset that you want to modify.

2.         Select the parameter preset.

3.         Modify the parameters, and then click Save Preset. The Save Parameter Preset page appears.

4.         To overwrite the existing parameter preset, do not change the Parameter Preset Name field. To save your changes as a new parameter preset, enter a new unique name in the Parameter Preset Name field.

6.         Click Save.

Note

Any user can modify any public parameter preset, even if they did not originally create it.

Deleting Parameter Presets

To delete a parameter preset for a report, follow these steps:

1.         Open the report containing the parameter preset that you want to delete.

2.         Select the parameter preset that you want to delete.

3.         Click Delete Preset.

4.         Click OK.

Note

Any user can delete any public parameter preset, even if they did not originally create it.
