On the Batch settings page, the batch owner or an authorization admin can update certain batch settings.
Note
Only the owner of the batch or an authorization admin
can edit any settings on this page. Other users can view the information
on this page, but cannot edit it.
By default, the owner of a batch is the user who created it. Ownership
can only be changed by an authorization admin on the Bundle security page.
To access the Batch settings page for a batch, follow these steps:
1. Click the batch that you want to run from one of the following locations:
▪ The Home page in Report Gateway. Find a batch on the Favorites or Batches tab by scrolling through the list or typing in the Find in batches search field.
▪ The Recent items page in Report Gateway, by clicking Edit.
The Manage Batch page appears. The contents of the batch are listed on the left.
2. Click the ellipses
at the
top of the page.
3. Click Batch settings.
4. On the Batch settings page, review or update the information in the following fields:
▪ Batch ID—The ID assigned to the batch.
▪ Batch name—The name given to the batch. Enter new text to change the batch name.
▪ Tags—A list of tags applied to the batch to help categorize it. To add a tag, click the field to show a drop-down list of existing tags, or enter your own tag manually.
▪ Access—The current access setting of the batch. By default, new batches are set to Private. To change this setting, click Convert to shared batch. The following access settings are available:
▪ Private—The batch can only be seen and run by the user who created it.
▪ Shared, editable—The batch has been shared with other users, and those users are able to modify the batch contents such as the iteration list and batch item. This option does not allow updating batch settings.
▪ Shared, run-only—The batch has been shared with other users, but those users cannot modify the batch and can only generate it as it was saved.
Note
To access a shared batch, a user must have access to a data context that can access the selected Iteration List configured in the shared batch.
If a user has access to a batch but it includes items in the Selected list that the user does not have security access to, these items will not be iterated over when the user generates the batch. A user with Shared, editable access can remove these items from the list, but cannot replace them after doing so.
Caution
Changing access settings may cause some users to lose access to the batch. If a user's access to a batch is revoked, their scheduled instances of the batch will not run.
▪ Ownership—The current owner of the batch. By default, this is the creator of the batch. Ownership can only be changed by an authorization admin on the Bundle security page.
