You can schedule reports, packets, and batches in Report Gateway to run one time or at intervals during a specified range of time. Use the Scheduled items page to view the items you have scheduled. For information on scheduling a new report, refer to the Scheduling Reports topic. Scheduling packets and batches follows the same workflow.
Note
The Scheduled items page only lists the scheduled reports from Report Gateway, not scheduled reports from MRI for the Web. Likewise, MRI for the Web only lists its own scheduled reports, not Report Gateway reports.
To view scheduled reports, follow these steps:
1. Click Scheduled items on the menu bar. The Scheduled items page appears.
2. On the Reports tab, review the following information for each scheduled report:
▪ Report name—The name of the scheduled report.
▪ Parameters—Click this link to view a report's data context and parameters.
▪ Next Run Time—The next time at which the report is scheduled to run.
▪ Recurrence—The configured recurrence period for the report, if any.
▪ Sharing Steps—The configured sharing steps for the report, if any.
3. To modify a scheduled report, use the following options:
▪ To modify the scheduling options, click Edit. The Schedule report page appears. Make your changes, and then click Save.
▪ To generate the report immediately, click Generate.
▪ To cancel a scheduled report, click Cancel.
To view scheduled packets, follow these steps:
1. Click Scheduled items on the menu bar. The Scheduled items page appears.
2. Select the Packets tab.
3. On the Packets tab, review the following information for each scheduled packet:
▪ Scheduled item name—The name of the scheduled item.
▪ Packet name—The name of the scheduled packet.
▪ ID—The ID of the scheduled packet.
▪ Items—Click this link to view the reports and PDFs included in the packet.
▪ Next Run Time—The next time at which the packet is scheduled to run.
▪ Recurrence—The configured recurrence period for the scheduled packet, if any.
▪ Sharing Steps—The configured sharing steps for the packet, if any.
4. To modify a scheduled packet, use the following options:
▪ To open a scheduled packet and edit or generate it, click Open and make your changes.
▪ To modify the scheduling options, click Edit. The Schedule packet page appears. Make your changes, and then click Save.
▪ To cancel a scheduled packet, click Cancel.
Note
Certain actions can cause scheduled packets to be cancelled:
▪ The current user no longer has access to certain reports in the packet.
▪ The packet was deleted by another user.
▪ The packet's access setting was changed to Private. In this case, the scheduled packet only remains for the packet owner.
If a scheduled packet has been cancelled, the Scheduled items page shows the message This packet is no longer available. To see what caused the packet to be canceled, click More info.
To view scheduled batches, follow these steps:
1. Click Scheduled items on the menu bar. The Scheduled items page appears.
2. Select the Batches tab.
3. On the Batches tab, review the following information for each scheduled packet:
▪ Scheduled item name—The name of the scheduled item.
▪ Batch name—The name of the scheduled batch.
▪ ID—The ID of the scheduled batch.
▪ Items—Click this link to view the iteration list and batch item for the batch.
▪ Next Run Time—The next time at which the batch is scheduled to run.
▪ Recurrence—The configured recurrence period for the scheduled batch, if any.
▪ Sharing Steps—The configured sharing steps for the batch, if any.
4. To modify a scheduled batch, use the following options:
▪ To open a scheduled batch and edit or generate it, click Open and make your changes.
▪ To modify the scheduling options, click Edit. The Schedule batch page appears. Make your changes, and then click Save.
Note
The Selection items in the Iteration list section of a scheduled batch cannot be modified once they have been scheduled. If you need to change these values, you must delete the entire scheduled batch instance and create a new scheduled instance.
▪ To cancel a scheduled batch, click Cancel.
Note
